Mesozoic Era 251 to 66 mya
The Mesozoic (“middle life”) Era is sometimes called the “Age of Reptiles” and saw the development and dominance of dinosaurs. Gondwana was now subsumed into Pangaea which was gradually broken up during this era. Flowering plants appeared on the land, accompanied by bees and butterflies. Mammals existed but where unable to spread because of the dominance of the dinosaurs.
