Rock

Most of the rocks we see on Earth today are formed from the lightest atoms in the Earth: oxygen, silicon and aluminum. These make the Earth's crust.

Sometimes rocks from the mantle are carried up to the surface. These consist of oxygen, silicon and magnesium.
